Roadtec, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee,
manufactures and markets a complete line of cold planing and recycling
equipment, material transfer vehicles and asphalt paving machines.
These products are sold all over the world through an extensive
combination of dealers. All Roadtec are built to the highest standards,
emphasizing simplicity, productivity, versatility and accessibility.
One of the demands placed on contractors is to produce a recyclable
asphalt product when milling up old pavement during the road reconstruction
process and to leave a smooth surface for repaving. Roadtec’s
successful line of cold planers fills this need.
Roadtec offer cold planers in sizes from utility to full-lane.
They provide the optimum balance between horsepower, production
and manoeuvrability. Track models can be equipped with a bi-directional
feature to achieve down cutting in the reverse direction of travel.
Roadtec pavers are the most reliable and maintenance-free pavers
in the industry. They are simply-designed and well-balanced for
maximum tractive effort and can be equipped with a variety of screeds
and controls. Roadtec is the first U.S. paver manufacturer to make
electric screed heat standard equipment on all models. This insures
that the screed plates are heated evenly from front to back and
from end to end, eliminating the ”hot” spots found with
diesel or propane burners. The Comfort Drive™ operator system
is also standard equipment on our pavers. Designed for maximum comfort
and ease of operation, there are two complete operators’ stations,
each with individual consoles, allowing the paver to be operated
from either side. These consoles are easily interchangeable from
side to side to accommodate left-or right-handed operators. A hydraulically-raised
engine hood allows “walk-in” access for maintenance
needs and critical componentry.
Roadtec's new and innovative gravity-fed Stealth® paver was
designed to work in conjunction with the SB-2500 Shuttle Buggy®
material transfer vehicle and the MTV-1000C material transfer vehicle.
The Stealth® Paver is a low-maintenance machine that does not
require conveyors or hopper wings. The design significantly reduces
customers' maintenance cost and purchase price.
The Shuttle Buggy® material transfer vehicle offers the latest
in pavement placement technology available world-wide. The Shuttle
Buggy is a mobile, self-propelled surge bin with an antisegregation
auger design that remixes material to produce a consistent size
and temperature. In addition, the surge capacity of the Shuttle
Buggy allows for continuous paving by separating truck unloading
from the paving process; trucks never come in direct contact with
the paver and are able to unload material immediately and return
to the asphalt plant.
Roadtec is perfectly positioned to help road builders meet new
state Departments of Transportation (DOT) regulations in the USA
for pavement smoothness. New smoothness standards are most easily
achieved with a material transfer vehicle used in combination with
a paver. The Roadtec Shuttle Buggy® material transfer vehicle
not only allows the construction of significantly smoother roads
but also improves the efficiency of paving operations. Benefits
to the contractor include significant savings in asphalt trucking
costs and the ability to meet, and even exceed, DOT standards. Being
able to provide those benefits has made the patented Shuttle Buggy
one of Roadtec's most successful products.
